Common Questions About Our Upholstery Services
Do you cover my area?
Yes – we work across Somerset & Dorset and the wider South West. On the coast that includes
Poole Harbour (Cobbs Quay, Salterns, Parkstone), Bournemouth, Christchurch Harbour (Mudeford), Weymouth Harbour, Portland Marina, West Bay (Bridport) and Lyme Regis, plus
Minehead, Watchet, Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare. For foam and smaller items we also use insured UK couriers.
What fabrics and materials do you use?
For boats and outdoor work we use marine-grade vinyl, Sunbrella® / Silvertex® fabrics, UV-stable threads and quick-dry reticulated foam.
For cars we use automotive-grade leather, Nappa, Alcantara® and OEM headliner fabrics.
For commercial and residential pieces we stock contract fabrics, Crib-5 foams and designer ranges from well-known upholstery suppliers – always matched to how the piece will actually be used.
Can you work out of hours for pubs, restaurants and clinics?
Absolutely. For commercial upholstery we regularly strip out and refit seating in the evenings or over a quiet day so you’re not losing trade.
We can phase a job so parts of your venue stay open while we work through the rest.
Is reupholstery cheaper than buying new?
Often, yes – especially where the frame is solid (pub benches, quality sofas, classic car seats, good boat bases).
You keep the shape and fit you already like, upgrade the foam and fabrics, and avoid the hassle of trying to make new, generic furniture fit your space.
If we think new is a better option, we’ll tell you before you commit to anything.
Can I just replace the foam in my sofa cushions?
Yes. Foam replacement is one of the fastest ways to make a sofa feel new again.
Bring your covers in (or post them) and we’ll recommend a suitable density and ILD based on how firm you want it, then cut and wrap the foam and refill the covers for you.
How long does a typical job take?
Lead time depends on the project size and fabric availability, but small foam and cushion jobs can often be turned around in days.
Larger boat, commercial or full interior jobs are usually scheduled a few weeks ahead, with clear timelines agreed up-front so you can plan around us.
