01Pattern the finished base+
Show the uncovered bench and both ends, including wall returns and irregular edges. Any building, surface finish or support changes should be completed before final dimensions are agreed.
02Decide how to divide the run+
Long pads can look calm but may be difficult to lift, store or refill. Discuss the position of joins against the bench shape, and label each section so the pattern remains clear.
03Allow for back support and storage+
Loose backs reduce the usable seat depth. Compare the complete arrangement and identify where the cushions will be stored; upholstery is not a remedy for drainage or defects in the built structure.
