01Start with the empty furniture+
Photograph the whole frame without loose cushions where practical, then its seat supports, back angle and corners. Record dimensions with a consistent front direction and identify any shape that cannot be captured accurately with a simple rectangle.
02Add the cushions back to the record+
Show the installed seat and backs together, with close views of gaps, bulges or poor alignment. Note finished depth separately from the flat outline, and label each piece to its position.
03Agree the right pattern method+
Josh can discuss supplied pattern material for suitable pieces, further measurements or another assessment route. A traced outline alone does not describe cushion depth, back angle or how an insert should feel.

Is an on-site survey always needed?
No. Some pieces can be planned from a reliable remote brief and patterns; complex shapes or uncertain fit may need additional assessment. The route is agreed for the furniture.
