THE FEEL / THE FIT / THE FINISH

A space that feels like yours.

Bespoke marine upholstery, considered from the first conversation to the final fitting.

Compare fabric, foam, piping and thread together. Confirm the pattern and fixing details before the finished pieces are made.

A CLOSER LOOK / PERSONALLY CONSIDERED

From swatch to seating.

Colour is only the beginning. Compare the material in the light of your space, then consider the cushion profile and the finish at its edges.

  • Material. Confirm the precise collection and feel using physical samples.
  • Construction. Agree the pattern, cushion depth and fastening details.
  • Finish. Bring piping, seams and border stitching into one direction.

01 / YOUR PROJECT

Make the inventory aboard.

Photograph the complete layout while the cushions are still fitted. Number each piece, including backrests, corner sections and matching pairs. Identify which side faces forward and which face sits against the base.

Record loose fixings separately. Note which parts stay aboard and which are included in the shipment. Never assume a pair is interchangeable simply because its dimensions look similar.

02 / YOUR PROJECT

Confirm packing before the courier is booked.

Discuss the size, quantity and construction of the pieces with Josh. Agree protection for exposed hardware, the condition of pieces being packed and the collection address. Confirm that the package and handling method suit the agreed courier.

Include a numbered inventory, contact details and the agreed work reference. Keep a copy. The packing and dispatch plan must be settled before anything leaves the vessel.

03 / YOUR PROJECT

Plan the return location.

If the boat will move, agree the actual return address and the person who can receive the pieces. Confirm who checks the fit and how fitting responsibilities are shared.

Allow for assessment and owner or designer approvals before assuming a return date. Report changes to the berth, layout or access promptly.

PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Before we begin.

Should I post cushions before asking for a quote?

Start with photographs and agree the assessment and collection plan first.

Should fittings go in the same package?

Agree which fittings are needed and label any included items separately against the inventory.

THE NEXT USEFUL STEP

Bring the brief together.
