01Keep the comparison consistent+
Place your shortlisted samples next to one another on the same background. Move them together between the normal sunny and shaded positions, rather than comparing photographs taken in unrelated light.
02Look at the surface as well as the shade+
Turn the sample and view it at the angle of a seat or back cushion. Texture, weave direction and surface reflection can affect the impression, particularly when a fabric covers a much larger area.
03Record the approved reference, not a phone filter+
