OCEAN BREEZE / BESPOKE YACHT UPHOLSTERY

What to retain when removing boat upholstery

Keep the patterns, labels, fixings and photographs that help a replacement boat cushion set return to the right place.

THE BRIEF / CONSIDER EVERY DETAIL

Keep the evidence of how it fits.

Removal is the moment when useful fit information is easiest to lose. Before the cushions leave the yacht, create a simple record that connects every loose part to its original position.

THE PRACTICAL DETAILS

Photographs, patterns and labelled components.

01Photograph before separating

Take a complete view of each seating zone, then the joins, corners and accessible underside details. Label pieces in a way that does not mark the fabric, and keep the label visible in the matching photograph.

02Keep the old pieces until advised

Retain covers, inserts and any removable backing until Josh confirms what is needed. An old cover can show seams and orientation even if it is no longer a reliable final pattern; note where its fit was wrong.

03Separate and identify loose components

Bag accessible loose fittings by cushion or panel, record their original positions and explain what will be reused. Do not dismantle structural or unfamiliar fittings just to complete an upholstery inventory.

BEFORE WORK BEGINS

Your questions,
considered.

Can I throw away the old covers once I have measured them?

Wait until the required pattern information is confirmed. Flat dimensions may miss curvature, seam placement, orientation or the relationship to an insert.

Should every old piece be copied exactly?

No. Mark poor fit, uncomfortable support and awkward access in the brief. The old set is evidence to review, not an instruction to reproduce every problem.

FAST QUOTES & UK-WIDE COURIER

Send the pictures.
We’ll shape the plan.

Tell Josh about your boat, the pieces to renew and the finish you have in mind. We agree samples, patterns, collection and fitting responsibilities before work begins.

Same-day UK courier collection is available by confirmed booking. It means collection, not manufacture. Cost, packing, access and the return programme are agreed for your pieces. EU collections and onboard visits are planned individually.
