01Follow the actual recess+
Photograph the empty seat base, both ends and the front edge. Curved glazing does not necessarily follow the same outline as the seat below, so the pattern must describe the supported cushion area.
02Keep the window details usable+
Show opening handles, blinds, ventilation grilles and any access panels close to the seat. Review the proposed cushion height and back support against those details before agreeing the finished profile.
03Read the fabric in changing light+
Place shortlisted samples by the actual window and adjoining woodwork. Grain, weave and piping can appear different in direct light and shade; the studio image is a starting point for that comparison.

Can you make a cushion for a curved window recess?
A shaped cushion can be discussed using an agreed pattern or measurement route. Photos alone may not capture the full curve or the fit at each end.
Does every window seat need a separate back cushion?
No. Show how the space is used and the support already provided by the joinery. A loose back or scatter cushion changes the usable seat depth and should be considered with the base.
