YOUR SEATING / YOUR SPECIFICATION

An interior that belongs to your yacht.

Start with photographs and what you want to improve. Josh considers the material, support, pattern and practical handover together, with the scope agreed around your boat.

01 / THE SHAPE

Connect the saloon, dining and relaxed seating.

Share wide photographs of the spaces and close details of the pieces you want renewed. Consider the upholstery alongside the retained joinery, flooring and light, rather than choosing a fabric in isolation. Tell Josh which proportions and comfort you want to retain.

Show curved corners, split cushions, access hatches and fixed sections. These details affect patterns and the removal route. A coherent palette can connect separate areas without requiring every cushion to share the same construction.

THE SHAPE

Follow every curve.

Pattern, orientation, access and retained fixings are considered around the actual seating.

THE COMFORT

Consider every layer.

Cover, filling and the support beneath it work together. Discuss what stays and what changes.

THE FINISH

The border. The seam.

Coordinate material, piping and stitching details, with physical samples confirmed before manufacture.

02 / THE SPECIFICATION

Samples, support and finishing details.

Review physical fabric samples in the space where possible. Coordinate the main upholstery with piping, scatter cushions and adjacent surfaces. A screen preview helps explore a direction; the physical sample and agreed collection establish the final selection.

Describe the comfort of the existing filling and the profile you would prefer. Border depth, panel direction, seams, zips and access to storage are agreed together. Covers-only work and renewed filling have different scopes and are assessed before manufacture.

03 / THE HANDOVER

Approvals that fit the refit.

Identify the owner, captain, designer or representative who will approve the scheme. If cabinetry or bases will change, tell us before patterns are confirmed. Record what stays and what is being altered.

Onboard assessment, UK or EU cushion collection, manufacture and installation are planned around the vessel’s programme. Agree travel, packing, approvals and the return location individually. Let us know if the yacht will change marina during the work.

BEFORE THE FIRST CUT

Your practical questions.

Can you work with an interior designer?

Yes. Share the proposed direction and identify who can approve physical samples, patterns and the final specification.

Can I retain the original seat shapes?

The existing shapes can be assessed as a starting point. Tell us which profiles, panel lines and comfort you want to preserve.

Can some cushions be renewed while others stay?

Yes. Photograph the whole space so the renewed pieces can be considered alongside the retained finish.

Can Josh visit a yacht in the EU?

EU visits can be discussed around your boat’s location and project scope. Availability, travel costs and the assessment method are agreed individually.
